XH's fashion style

My fashion concept is: "Simple yet elegant, with a tinge of youthfully cute yet matured enough".
Complicated? Well, I have quite a number of pictures to share with here.

This CNY i decided to mix match some outfits that I already had in my wardrobe, coming up with new combination that I never wore before. Some items are new, some are old; so it's like mix-matching old outfits with new outfits that comes out a new combination! Here are what it turned out to be:

I've bought a choker (RM15) & a handbag (RM25) at the CNY night market.

The bag looks fine to me, but the quality is not up to my standards since it's pretty squishy, but since it's RM25 & i'm looking for a bag right then ....

Back home, I tried taking pics of myself with my choker (my 1st choker ever):

Besides being a choker alone, it could be worn as a head band..

Trying to fool around with it.. making it a "forehead band"! oh yea?

This was what I looked like wearing the 'purple flower choker' during my family reunion dinner at Boulevard Restaurant:

Next, the shirt below could be worn as a formal wear ... I took this pic in the dressing room ...
I didn't buy this shirt because 1stly, it looks too bombastic on me; 2ndly, I cannot afford to grow any fatter with this shirt...(you can see why)

By the way, how do I look in mini shorts? I didn't buy this pair of shorts too.. but I think it looked kind of cute.. However, with my extra slim long legs, I looked quite scarily skinny in it, that's why I needed to pose my legs a little, to make them looked better in a different angle ;)

My most extravagant appearance ever.. & the look I'm most pleased with, is still..

Ta da!!~~

Who Belongs in your Life?

You can spend your life anywhere with anybody doing anything, then suddenly meet someone and sense that there is a connection between you. You know intuitively, "I won't reach my destiny without you in my life". Looking back you realise if you hadn't met that certain person, or taken that phone call, or read that email, you wouldn't be where you are today.

On the other hand, "Oprah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye"(Ruth 1:14). Now Oprah's leaving didn't make her a bad person; it just meant her part in the story was over. Recognise when somebody's part in your story is over, otherwise you'll just keep trying to raise the dead.

Acknowledge when something is over. If God means you to have it, He'll give it to you. If you've tried to make it work & it hasn't, accept His will in the matter. Get up, go for a walk, buy yourself a new outfit, treat yourself to a good meal; start living again! Never beg anyone to stay with you against their will. Their leaving is no accident; it just means God has something better in store for you (and possibly, them too), so trust Him and move on!

Choices

Our lives are like icebergs. Only 15 percent is visible; that's reputation. The rest, our character, is below the surface, hidden. Character is what we think but never share. It's what we do when no one's watching. It's how we react to everyday aggravations. It's how we handle failure - and success. The thing that has made us what we are is our choices. At the end of a successful career, Joshua challenges the people of Israel: "Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord." So the choice is yours!

French writer Francis de la Rochefoucauld asserted, "Almost all our faults are more pardonable than the methods we think up to hide them." Ever notice that people with the weakest character tend to place blame on their circumstances? They talk a lot about poor upbringing, financial difficulties, the unkindness of others, or other circumstances that have made them victims. Your circumstances may be beyond your control but your character is not. You can no more blame your character on your circumstances than you can blame the mirror for your looks. Developing character is always your choice. Every time you make a character-based decision you take another step forward in your Spiritual growth.

We are who we are

"Each one of you is a separate and necessary part" (1 Corinthians 12:27). But in order to determine where you fit in, it helps to know yourself. For example, what kind of working environment brings out the best in you? Do you thrive on routine? Are you motivated by other people's needs? Do you enjoy tackling challenges that discourage others? God shaped each person in turn - you're not supposed to be a carbon copy of anyone else. And how about your relationships? Do you enjoy being part of a team, or do you function better alone? If you only come to life around people, you'll probably be miserable sitting in front of a computer all day. What lights your fire?

In the movie Chariots of Fire, Eric Liddell described his zeal for running in these words: "I believe God made me for a purpose, but He also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure." What makes you feel like that? There's a story about a man who was asked if he could play the violin. "I don't know, I've never tried!" he replied. When you think about it, it's a wise enough answer, because until you've tried something how do you know whether or not you'd be any good at it? For instance, a frog may be a great swimmer but it's a lousy flier. Some of us whose heroes are 'birds' walk around feeling bad about ourselves because we can't fly. You're not supposed to! "Be content with who you are" (1 Peter 5:6 TM). Stop flapping around out there and give yourself permission to be the person God made you to be!

Old friends - A "bridge" to new friends

Many a times, through old friends, we can meet new friends and then all of us become friends. How sweet! That is called "Friendship" - what I treasure extremely much in my life.. YES, extra extremely much..
LiNa & I can't comprehend why, we always seem to wear similar clothes when we go out together. Just look at the above pic...:P It was taken at my new friend Jennifer's aunt's sister's house! Ha, I bet you'll look at me with starry eyes when I say this, but we'd actually went there to have a "dinner party" after our outing at some places searching for oven. The story is, Jennifer asked LiNa to accompany her to buy an oven, I followed LiNa after church to meet with Jennifer to hunt for her oven. We planned to bake cakes at her house some day... wow, am i excited & looking forward to that~
Jennifer, it's such a pleasure to meet you, my new friend!! XD
LiNa, since many years I've known you, you still remain an "ideal friend" that everyone wishes to have ....
A good term to sum this up --- Friends Forever !!! a.k.a. BFF~~

Countdown 2009

Happy New Year 2009!!!!!!!!!! Oh, before that, let us countdown ~
Here are some of the pics taken which shows how much we enjoyed ourselves!

Actually Zack and Amy joined us for the dinner and drinks, but they left earlier so didn't get to join us until the peak time - 12am of 1/1/2009 !

We had our dinner at 'ba kut teh', then had our drinks at Island, chatted until near the time of countdown so we joined the crowd outside Al'Fresto. This is the 1st time I witnessed countdown at a pub/bistro -- outside of a bistro, to be exact. Such a big crowd made me excited!!!!! & really gotten IN the mood of countdown.

The crowd~

We tried to take pic in front of Al'Fresco ..

The balloons, which were released at the struck of 12am, 1 Jan 2009!

Guess where we went after that? To the playground at Taman Awam!

SO, now, it's already 2009! Time really really flies. I'm older 1 year old - 我不想长大!!
OK, I still wanted to mature mentally ..
